FA Trophy 3rd Round Draw

In the draw for the Third Round Qualifying of the FA Trophy announced today, Richard Hill's Eastleigh have been handed a tough home tie against Blue Square South rivals Hayes & Yeading United.

Hayes & Yeading were formed in May 2007 after Conference South clubs Hayes F.C. and Yeading F.C. merged. In their second season, 2008–09, they finished fourth, securing a place in the play-offs semi final against Eastleigh. H&Y secured victory beating Ian Baird's Spitfires 6–4 on aggregate and went on to win the play off final against Hampton & Richmond to secure promotion.

Earlier this season Eastleigh fans witnessed a 3-1 victory over the Surrey club with a brace from Jai Reason and a late Glenn Southam strike. The match is to be played on November 10th (k.o. 3.00pm)

Eastleigh Football Club are delighted to announce Richard Hill as their new first team manager, with immediate effect. Richard will be introduced to the players and staff tomorrow evening and will take charge of his first match on Saturday against Maidenhead. Richard is vastly experienced having managed Stevenage Borough and assisted John Gregory at both Wycombe and QPR, Brian Little at Aston Villa and also fulfilled the same roles at Gillingham, Tranmere Rovers and Northampton Town.
